Ferns

Ferns have been part of our flora since the Carboniferous period. To this day, they can be found almost everywhere in the world. Ferns prefer moist, shady locations. In their natural habitats, they are often found in forests or along rivers. In our cultivated areas, however, they often find niches in shady places under trees or even in gaps in walls.
