Our company Baum & Bonheur (formerly known as Baumschule Lappen) was founded in 1894 and has continually grown from generation to generation. Today, with its 140 highly qualified employees and around 500 hectares of cultivated land, it is one of the largest tree nurseries in Europe.We supply our customers from garden and landscaping, landscape architecture as well as local authorities and private individuals, with a full range of products from one single source. But our speciality lies in impressive avenue and large trees, exceptional specimen and topiary shrubs as well as fruit trees.

Quality, sustainability and a focus on the future are our top priorities. This means that we are constantly adapting to the new challenging climatic conditions with an assortment adapted to the climate change.

Our company

The sheltered location of the Lower Rhine Bay is an excellent location for a tree nursery. The reasons for this are the climate, the soil and the location in the centre of Europe. The climate on the Lower Rhine is ideal: It not only ensures continuous healthy growth, but also guarantees the almost uninterrupted delivery of the trees. The existing Lower Rhine soil and our company’s ecological cultivation measures promote a healthy root system as the basis for a good establishment and continued growth. In addition, the geographical location offers short delivery routes to the plants' final destination.

Baum & Bonheur produces according to the German FLL quality regulations. Through sustainability in the company, the nursery takes responsibility for the future and is certified under the MPS number 803624 with the award "A", the best possible award.

Technology

Innovative machines and a large, modern fleet of vehicles are part of the basic equipment to be found at Baum & Bonheur. Special tree lifting machines, our very own in-house developed machines such as our watering edge or binding machine ensure gentle treatment for all our plants. GPS-controlled planting machines enable efficient planning with the implementation of effective work processes. A new app-controlled drip irrigation system ensures the best growth of our plants with excellent interaction with the soil and the fertilization thereof. It helps makes a relevant contribution to the topic of resource consumption and sustainability.
