Press release

The traditional tree nursery “Baum & Bonheur”, formerly Lappen, has purchased a tree nursery in the French region of Lyon. Pépinières du Chuzeau, located on the south-eastern outskirts of France's second largest city, has around 90 hectares of cultivated land, almost half of which it owns. It serves the south-eastern French markets, the greater Lyon area and the neighboring regions up to the foothills of the Alps, as well as numerous national customers.

Dominique Bonnardon, until now managing partner, a 63-year-old, very friendly and very competent man, is happy to have settled the succession issue for the company he has grown fond of and which he has managed with passion for several decades. He will continue to manage the business of the company, which will continue to bear its traditional name. Continuity is very important to both the old and the new shareholder.

Peter Overlack, whose responsibilities on the Baum & Bonheur management board include the French market, is confident that this measure represents a further step towards securing the future of the nursery: “Regional diversification is a key to spreading location risks and balancing out the overall economic situation in the face of differing regional strengths and weaknesses.”
